The insurance must be sufficient for the Medicaid Requirement. There are some brokers that won the Medicaid bid. Medicaid required same coverage amount and all compliance for subcontractos.

I am located in Texas, the reason why I ask you this is because most of this insurannce companies try to sell you so many other insurannce that you probably won’t use.

Again, I just want to know what is the basic “Standard” insurance, needed to start the business from home with one vehicel.

also, if know. Any idea how much it will cost for a non-experience person.? Give an example if any.

For other part, Thanks for answering my previous question.

Hey Joel,
Here in Ohio we were told if a person is rushed to the emergency room by ambulance but was not admitted then Medicare/ Medicaid will not pay for the transportation back to their residence. At first thought it seemed like a good opportunity because we were told the hosiptal would not take them back. Also they were not able to get anyone else to take them back. My thought now is because they don”t have the money is why no other provider will take them. What is your take on this?

Hi Joel,
I’ve enjoyed & really learned from your DVD’s, e-books, & website. Eventually, I’m planning on joining the UMTPG.
Recently, I’ve been acccepted as a provider for the “bully” Logisticare. They’ve expressed to me how rare it is for them to accept a provider with only one vehicle (full size wheelchair van). So, I’m having difficulties locating an ADA compliant vehicle available for rent, should mine break down. If I rent a handicap van for a short term (3-4 days) does it have to meet the ADA standards/requirements???
I’m reluctant to ask Logisticare this question.
Also, in the Commonwealth of Virginia, it took approx. 11 months to be approved as an Irregular Route Common Carrier (for hire). Although, since my approval, I have heard the requirements/regulations have been streamlined to expedite the process. The logisticare process, so far, has been about 4.5 months.

Thank You,
Valley Medi-Transport

I am located in Texas. Seems that the agencies in Texas don’t know too much how to provide information. I really need information about this business in Texas.

Do we need License in Texas for NEMT?
Do we need Van license if more than 9 passenger?

Most competitor provide oxygen. Do I need license to transport oxygen? who administer this oxygen. I understand that at the hospital they administer the oxygen, but what about if the call is from home. I did a call to one provider and they ask if I need oxygen and he knew the pick up location was from home.

How do I know if I am ADA compliance.? I found the vehicle compliance guidelines but how can i find that in the vehicle at the time of purchasing.
To those who live in Texas, I found out that if you wan to do a NEMT you can do it but you must be EMS and have a ambulance type vehicle to transport patient in Stretcher.

Please, help with this

Hello, I have debating for months on whether to get a van or mini as my first vehicle. I read you e-book and I know you stand behind a van, I’m just apprehensive of purchasing a big van and then going months with transporting one or two ambulatory people and wasting gas. I know with a wheelchair minivan I would only be able to get one wheelchair transport at a time but I’m still shaky. Starting out I just don’t think I will fill a big van – I think I would have a better chance at filling a minivan.

My husband thinks I should get a big van but I’m just stumped. I really would appreciate some pros and cons. I dont want to waste gas mileage and time with one two transports at a time.
SECOND VEHICLE QUESTION
I thought about, and I know you say this is a big no-no but, signing one of our personal cars over to the company and using that as my ambulatory vehicle and the mini/van as the wheelchair vehicle. The biggest con to this is wheelchair and nonwheelchair vehicles have about the same insurance rates :/

What are your thoughts…I’m lost

Thank you
